EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) Registration, in compliance with EC Regulation No. 1221/2009, is a voluntary tool, recognised at European level, aimed at all public and private organisations, which aim to prove that environmental issues related to activities are in compliance with the mandatory requirements and are monitored with the aim of reducing environmental impact, prevent pollution, pursue continuous improvement of environmental performance.

EMAS Registration emphasises the attention that the organisation pays in the environmental field with tangible and documented instruments of committal that give rise to objective, transparent and verifiable communications, to be kept constantly up-to-date.

Objective documentation is produced following an assessment by a Third Party with accredited environmental auditor whereas the registration process is activated by the organisation sending the Environmental Declaration validated by the auditor to the Ecolabel-EcoAudit Committee. The positive outcome of said process allows the Ecolabel-EcoAudit Committee to register the Organisation in a specific European Register.
Registration, which is issued to individual sites, increases the assurance of environmental management that is perfectly integrated in the strategy and values of the organisation and makes it possible to achieve greater competitive advantages, protecting corporate image locally as well as nationally and internationally.
