The geothermal system generically consists of probes located in the underground of structures (buildings). The probes, which in turn are connected to a heat pump and plumbing system, use the natural heat of the ground to extract or input energy so as to produce heating or cooling as needed.
The system’s effectiveness and performance call for correctly designing the requirements. As for all air-conditioning systems, the performance actually provided must match that stated and said performance must be assured over time. The quality of individual components and of the system as a whole is therefore essential to assure savings and well-being.
ICIM is able to certify both complete installations and components of small-scale geothermal systems (blocks of flats, residential units, hotels etc.) and large-scale ones (large retail and industrial surfaces) used to provide heating or air-conditioning of the interiors.
